I started on the 21st of December and am on my last course to be eligible for the IRS Annual Filing Season Program
(AFSP). However, it is not necessary to have this designation with the IRS to prepare taxes. Anyone with a PTIN can prepare taxes. This just offers a higher level of professionalism and you are listed on the IRS website under tax preparers with these credentials; was my understanding. I have taken this refresher course three times and I find it annoying that it doesn't tell you what you got right or wrong. So how in the world are you supposed to review and improve your score. I will attempt it two more times but if i don't pass by the 31st I just won't be able to offer that designation as being apart of the AFSP.
